Which file types can it sign?

How are C2PA Content Credentials different from EXIF metadata?

EXIF is standard file metadata that platforms may remove during upload. C2PA Content Credentials are signed provenance information intended to make a file's origin and editing history verifiable.

What is the difference between visible and invisible watermarking?

A visible watermark shows your logo and stays visible in screenshots. The invisible watermark carries creator details in the pixels without visibly changing the image, and is verified inside the app.

Does a Content Credential prove I own the copyright?

No. Content Credentials are signed provenance information: who signed a file, with which tool, and what edits were recorded. That is evidence of origin, not proof of copyright, which depends on the law and your own records. Whether credentials or watermarks survive an upload varies by platform, so keep your original signed files.

Does it remove or change AI-generation labels?

No. The app preserves legitimate AI-generation tags and copyright metadata. It adds human authorship context and does not strip or falsify existing provenance.

Can it convert HEIC, HEIF or camera RAW photos?

Yes. iPhone HEIC and HEIF files and Canon RAW files can be converted to PNG, JPG, WebP or BMP before they are signed.

What does the Blender 3D render panel do?

It renders a .blend file to a still image or an MP4 in the background, with Blender's window closed. Scripts inside the .blend file are blocked. Blender is free and is detected on your computer.

Can it publish to Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn?

Yes. You connect your existing accounts with a real login, with no developer account needed, then publish now or schedule on the built-in calendar.

Does it work on a Mac?

Not currently. It is a native desktop app for Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Do viewers need special software?

No. The media looks and plays normally. Reading the invisible creator information requires Smart Media C2PA Studio's inspector and the matching license key.

How do updates work?

The app checks for new versions itself, and the license includes free updates.

Is there a free trial, and what does it cost?
